Money and Mental Health response to the Treasury Select Committee inquiry
into consumers’ access to financial services

In any given year, one in four people will experience a mental health problem which can affect their cognitive and psychological functioning, and make it significantly more difficult to access and engage with the market for financial services.

In this submission to the Treasury Select Committee inquiry into consumers’ access to financial services, we examine the extent to which financial firms, their services and regulations are currently meeting the needs of people experiencing mental health problems, and identify key areas where access to these services could be improved.
