Martin Lewis

Martin Lewis CBE is a campaigning journalist. He is the founder and Executive Chair of MoneySavingExpert.com, and the founder, funder, and Chair of the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute. Martin is now in the 15th series of his eponymous live, prime-time ITV show, regularly the highest-rated current affairs programme currently on UK television. He has social media followings in the millions and hosts one of the UK’s most-listened-to BBC podcasts.

He has led major national campaigns that have transformed consumer rights, including securing financial education in schools – personally funding over 300,000 textbooks – helping consumers reclaim over £10 billion in mis-sold PPI and more than £1 billion in unfair bank charges, and driving countless government policy changes including to cut energy bills, halt aggressive council tax debt collection, introduce mortgage safety protections, and tackle online scam advertising.

His awards include the National Television Award for TV Expert, plus headline honours from Broadcast (Special Recognition), the Royal Television Society (Special Award for ‘changing an entire genre of journalism’), the Edinburgh TV Festival (Special Award) and the Beacon Philanthropy Fellowship.
