Social housing, rent arrears and mental health
17 April 2018
Over a million adults in the UK are struggling with both their mental health and housing costs. This report explores why people with mental health problems are more likely to fall behind on their rent, and the consequences when they do. The research highlights how social landlords, as a major provider of housing to people experiencing mental health problems, currently respond to tenants in this situation, and makes recommendations to both housing providers and government.
