Submission to HM Treasury’s consultation on Access to Cash

23 September 2021

Money and Mental Health has submitted a response to the Treasury’s consultation on protecting access to cash. Our response highlights the importance of access to cash for some people with mental health problems, helping them to budget and stay in control of their spending. We welcome the government’s proposed geographic requirements for access to cash withdrawal facilities. However, we believe that these requirements must take into account and respond to the complexities of local factors that affect access, rather than taking a simple ‘as the crow flies’ approach.
