Money and Mental Health welcome the ECB’s aim to raise the standards on how the enforcement industry approaches vulnerability and ability to pay. However, further steps are needed to make the most of this opportunity to better protect people with mental health problems from the harms caused by enforcement action.

Our submission to the UK Parliament Work and Pensions Select Committee’s inquiry into employment support for disabled people. In this consultation response we make recommendations for the government to improve employment support through embedding mental health expertise and allowing people greater flexibility. We also call on employers to improve mental health provision in the workplace and be more proactive with reasonable adjustments for employees.

Money and Mental Health supports the Scottish Government’s proposed eligibility criteria, application process, and protections for the Mental Health Moratorium. In particular, we support the decision to widen the eligibility criteria to include those receiving treatment voluntarily and within a community.
