Money and Mental Health respond to the Department for Work and Pensions consultation on the ‘Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working’ Green Paper
30 June 2025
Money and Mental Health strongly oppose the government’s proposed reforms to the welfare system. While reforms are needed to better support the needs of those of use with mental health problems, reducing access to the Personal Independence Payment – whether for current or future claimants – will cause significant harm. However, we do broadly support proposals to improve access to work, including a ‘right to try’ scheme that removes the risk of being penalised for leaving an unsuitable job.
