Kate Wells
Research Officer
Kate is a Research Officer at Money and Mental Health, having joined the team in March 2025. She supports the research team in examining the links between financial difficulties and mental health problems.
Before this, Kate spent over five years at Citizens Advice as a qualified debt caseworker and insolvency intermediary, working with clients facing debt and benefit issues, often helping people with mental health problems. Her work involved negotiating with creditors and providing in-depth advice on debt options to help clients achieve financial stability.
When she’s not working, Kate enjoys spending time with her family, embracing outdoor activities like gardening, dog walks and cooking on the campfire. She is also an active PTA volunteer, organising fundraising events to support enrichment activities for students.
