93% of people with mental health problems say they spend more in periods of poor mental health, with many pointing to shopping addiction and compulsive spending rather than increased costs. In this paper we set out the psychological drivers of increased spending and explore a range of possible solutions, along with a series of questions to which we invite those with expertise in financial services, retail and mental health to respond.
The deadline to submit responses to the consultation questions has now passed. If you would like to discuss any of the issues raised in the paper please get in touch with the team via firstname.lastname@example.org.
