More than 100,000 people in problem debt attempt suicide each year in England alone, while close to half a million people grappling with this issue consider taking their own life, analysis has found.
The “devastating mental toll” that people struggling with financial difficulties can face has been laid bare in a report by a charity founded by money saving expert Martin Lewis, the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute.
