Online sites ‘encouraging’ reckless night-time spending sprees with midnight emails

Online shopping websites are targeting customers by emailing them with deals in the middle of the night when they are most likely to make impulse buys, a charity has warned.

Consumers have received promotional emails from major retailers including Amazon, Easyjet, Quidco and Lastminute.com between midnight and 5am in a bid to tempt them with offers and special deals.
