FCA Consultation: Signposting to travel insurance for consumers with medical conditions

The FCA consultation on signposting to travel insurance looks at whether this approach could improve access to insurance products for people with pre-existing medical conditions, such as mental health problems. In our response, we highlight some of the barriers people experiencing mental health problems currently face when accessing travel insurance (including high prices and exclusions), and how the FCA’s proposals could help to address these. We also set out how the FCA could go further in improving access to travel insurance products for this group by assessing the fairness of pricing.
