FCA consultation on guidance for firms on the fair treatment of vulnerable customers

Read our response to the FCA’s guidance for firms on the fair treatment of vulnerable customers. We welcome that the updated Guidance has addressed many of the concerns we raised in our previous response. Our response highlights that the Guidance is now easier to understand, but its application by firms remains the key issue. In order to marry the FCA’s twin aims of improvements for vulnerable consumers and flexibility for firms, we feel that effective supervision and enforcement are essential.
